Conté à Paris Sketching Pencils - Assorted Colours (Pack of 6)
I love the smoothness of these vibrant sepia tones without the messiness of chalk pastel. The slightly oily texture makes it easier to glide onto paper. I use a Stanley knife to sharpen these.  Click here

Oil Pastels -pack of 50
I've used this brand for many year
s and the colours are vivid and easy to use. Fade-resistant colours where you can apply directly to canvas, paper or other media for thick, thin, rough or smooth effects. Dilute with turps of even oil for a smooth paint like consistency.

Chalk Pastels -pack of 32
I'm going to recommend two types of chalk pastels. These are affordable and the colours are truly vibrant. They are softer than the other ones below but a wonderful pigment and the range of colours I cannot fault.

Chalk Pastels -pack of 36
I like this selection of chalk pastels as they are slightly longer sticks as the above ones and will last a bit longer. There is a good selection of colours. They are a little more firmer than the above ones. I would recommend purchasing both types if you are keen to work with more chalk pastels.

Fineliners -Uni Pin Fineliner Drawing Pen - Sketching Set - Black Ink - 0.03 to 0.8mm - Set of 6
I have a few sets of these in the studio. They are brilliant! They are perfect to use with watercolours as they are waterproof and fade proof. It's also really useful to have a range of thickness to suit an artwork. Never use over wet paint though. These fineliners work best on dry paper.

I have purchased a few sets of these for the studio. They are brilliant! They are perfect to take away on holiday. They make great gifts.
You can't go wrong with Winsor & Newton. The colours are vivid and creamy, you don't need much pigment to create beautiful paintings. The handy brush included is soft to use but I always find a separate set of brushes is useful.
